Incorporate Musical instruments into a storytime program

January 3, 2008 I presented a music storytime in Spanish.
The program was organized with a couple of songs and rhymes at the beginning of storytime followed by a book, followed by more songs and a book. Towards the end of the program I pulled out the tub of musical instruments. I let each child pick a hand held instrument to explore and play. When they all felt comfortable with the instruments I decided to play "El tao tao" the Spanish song which is available on youtube. Snow White and the seven dwarfs are in the background playing this song, so I projected this onto the screen from the computer. The parents and kids loved it. Some of the parents were very focused on playing their rhythm instruments to the beat of this song. See this video on my blog below.
